Especially for Science Students

Scholarships and stipends can reduce your stress and expand your opportunities. Both merit and need-based awards are available.

Incoming Freshmen and Transfer Students

Scholarships are available for well-prepared incoming freshmen and select transfer students interested in sciences or mathematics. Many awards are renewable for a second academic year (criteria varies).

Complete the general WSU scholarship application to be considered for more these awards and more than 700 other scholarship awards across the University. The annual deadline is January 31 for the following academic year. Don't wait for word on your acceptance! You can complete the scholarship application at any time before the January 31 deadline.

To be eligible for a general University scholarship from the College of Sciences, you must indicate an interest in a major offered by the College of Sciences when you fill out the application.

Current Students

The College of Sciences also offers scholarships directly to currently enrolled undergraduate students. Eligibiity varies and often requires certification in a particular major. Many of these scholarships are funded through alumni donations or memorial gifts.

Transfer students who anticipate certifying in a major in the College of Sciences upon entering WSU are also eligible to apply. However, you should also contact the academic unit in writing and indicate that you have submitted the College of Sciences application.

Students who fill out the College of Sciences undergraduate scholarship application are encouraged to fill out the annual application for general WSU scholarships as well.
