Advancing Knowledge

The College of Sciences at Washington State University conducts world-class, cutting-edge scientific research and offers an premier academic environment for both undergraduate and graduate students.

Research

From the molecular interactions of solids and liquids to the extreme physics of space, and from global biodiversity to energy policy simulations, the College of Sciences is at the core of the WSU's research initiatives. Over the past five years, our faculty and research staff have been awarded more than $120 million in research grants.

Both undergraduate and graduate students at WSU have exceptional access to research faculty and opportunities to work on real-world issues in modern laboratories. The annual Academic Showcase and undergraduate research poster competitions attract hundreds of students eager to share their findings.

Academics

You'll learn from professors who are nationally and internationally known for their expertise and their contributions to the scientific community. More important, WSU professors are know locally for their commitment to their students.

Undergraduates can choose from eight distinct majors and more than 30 specializations to match their strengths and interests. Graduate students develop one-on-one relationships with faculty mentors and study in small classes.
