College of Sciences

College of Sciences Fellowships

The College of Sciences and its schools and departments offer fellowships to graduate students. Most of the donated funds reside in the individual departments of the college. Awards of fellowships follow the wishes of the donors and, thus, student eligibility varies from fund to fund. In addition to named or memorial fellowships, general donated funds are often used to provide fellowship opportunities for graduate students. Application inquiries should be directed to the departments in which the student is a declared major.

Some graduate fellowships are administered by the Dean of the College of Sciences. Awardees are nominated by the chairs of the academic departments. Again, inquiries about fellowship opportunities should be directed to the department in which the student is a declared major.

Some fellowships and research assistantships can be awarded to self-identified underrepresented minority students. There are also grant-supported intern opportunities, e.g. NIH Biotechnology Training Grant, available in some areas.
